The Battle

Page of Pentacles, The Devil, Seven of Wands

The biggest battle you will face in making your dreams come true is escaping the prison of your own negative thinking.

Project: Me!

The time has come for me to start taking control of my life again and make some changes. I'm starting small. This week I'm committed to doing a 7-day green juice challenge that I saw over at Food Matters.  I won't be changing my eating habits at this time, apart from adding one green juice a day to my diet.  I hope to make that a new lifetime habit, but for now I'm going to see how I feel after seven days.  My husband bought me a new juicer which arrived the other day, and he picked up some veggies on his way home from work yesterday.  He's already put more work into this project than I have. Ha!

This juice is cabbage, lettuce, spinach, one Granny Smith apple, half a small lemon, and a bit of ginger.  I could easily drink a tall glass of this every morning.  (The cleanup is another thing, but I'm committed, I tell ya!)

And since this is a tarot journal, I figured I'd draw a card everyday as a sort of affirmation.  My Joie De Vivre deck is the one I love to use when I'm looking for encouragement or a little bit of kind self-talk.

This little guy looks like he just won a game of King of the Hill.  Stand your ground, baby!  You can't fail if you don't give up!

Warrior Princess

A couple days ago I did a 3 card reading:  Where I am now / Where I aspire to be / How to get there.

Where do I aspire to be?  I pulled the seven of wands.

Seven of Wands - Revelations Tarot

I saw the card and thought of fighting and conflict, which confused me because that is not where I want to be, but when I looked closer I saw a determined warrior.  I see a strong woman who is holding her ground, ready to do whatever it takes to win the battle.  The background reminds me of sinewy muscle.  She is fierce, confident and focused.  She's Xena the Warrior Princess! When I look at her, I have little doubt that she will also be the victor.

That is where I aspire to be!  I want to be fit and healthy.  It's what has been on my mind for months now.   I know I need to persevere and put in consistent effort to get there.  I want to be my own champion.  When I groan before stepping out for a walk or a workout, this card will come to mind.
