New Moon in October

Five of Swords, Five of Wands - Joie De Vivre Tarot

I pulled a couple of cards for the new moon today.  Interesting! Two fives.

This month I should release my need to be right and let go of conflicts that could threaten my relationships with loved ones and friends.  On the other hand a little healthy competition can lead to growth, and some things are worth fighting for. In other words, I should choose my battles wisely.

Another, and perhaps the more important interpretation of these two cards, could be that I need to let go of those relationships where I am required to think and act a certain way in order to earn love and friendship, while embracing those relationships that not only are able to survive conflict and disagreements but are actually made stronger by working through those conflicts.

  1. Very nicely explained! I love it. The visuals in this deck are great. I think I like it better than the Paulina. The Paulina was pretty and has a nice energy but I didn't feel as drawn to it. I think I like this deck better.

My interpretation (which is not as valid as yours because I made it and your interpretation always resonates more strongly) is that you're giving up a defeatist attitude (5 of Swords--that is my common interpretation of this one) and allowing yourself to 'get back in the game'...into the fray in a fun, feisty and competitive way!

    XOXOXO...

    1. That is an interpretation I will put in my tarot journal.

  2. Oh, I like that interpretation MM! Getting back in the game is what I'm trying very hard to do. Maybe this is the month where I really feel accomplished in that area.

  3. Five of Swords: I am always struggling with that card ( as with the seven of swords). This is an interpretation I can work with. Thanks! In real friendships and relationships there is no need to wear masks.:D

  4. I like the fact that in the Five of Wands, the two characters are actually engaging with each other. The Five has a stalemate, I'm-ignoring-you feel to it, and you can't resolve anything if you don't engage... Anyhow, loved your interpretations, Siddaleah! As you say, relationships that can survive a bit of conflict are definitely stronger for it :)

    1. ah yes, the five of swords does have that feel. Maybe I need to release giving my husband the silent treatment when I'm mad at him. lol
